February 2012

• Andrea spoke about the global marketing opportunities for Canadian agri-industry at the Agricultural Management Institute Conference. The conference theme was “Take a New Approach”.

November 2011

• Andrea spoke to a meeting of Women Corporate Directors organized by KPMG about global markets and what it means for Canada.

• Andrea spoke at the Innovation Forum North sponsored by Innovation Initiatives Ontario North.

• Andrea worked on op-ed writing with the fellows of Action Canada as part of their public policy proposals, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

 

June 2011
• Andrea participated in event sponsored by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada entitled Advancing Excellence in Strategic Engagement with the Brazilian Higher Education Sector. The event looked at how the profile of bilateral and academic research relationship between Canada and Brazil can be raised.

• Andrea gave a keynote address at an economic symposium entitled Pathways to Prosperity sponsored by the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

• Andrea moderated a Canadian Journalism Foundation Event profiling four of Canada's newest online media start-ups.

• Andrea answered questions and discussed her work as part of a Distinguished Journalist series organized by Ryerson University's Journalism School in Toronto.

• Andrea gave a keynote luncheon speech at the eighth annual RE$EARCH MONEY conference in Ottawa. This year's theme was "Going Global".

• Andrea was the keynote speaker at an event sponsored by NuFarm in Winnipeg. She spoke about Why Marketing Matters.

Andrea was the keynote speaker at the Association for Canadian Studies in the Netherlands series: “Re-Exploring Canadian Space.” She spoke about Canada’s position in the global economy at the Canadian Studies Centre at the University of Groningen in Holland.

• Andrea moderated a panel on trade opportunities as part of the 5th Annual Ontario Economic Summit organized by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.

•Andrea participated in a Young Leaders conference sponsored by the Inter-American Dialogue in Washington DC. The event brought together individuals from across the Americas to discuss challenges facing the hemisphere.

• Andrea addressed the Food & Consumer Products Association of Canada. She spoke at the Association’s CEO Conference, titled “Making It In Canada”, in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.

• Andrea participated in a panel as part of a Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security & Cooperation in Europe. The subject of the panel was: Trade, Security & Migration: The Economic Dimension.

• Andrea addressed the Ottawa chapter of TiE, the largest non-profit organization in the world for entrepeneurs, about building global ventures.

• Andrea addressed the University of Calgary on the subject of her book, Why Mexicans Don't Drink Molson.

• Andrea was the Keynote Speaker at ACG Vancouver's Annual Capital Connection conference. ACG is the leading industry association of private equity and M&A professionals in North America.

• Andrea spoke to the Montreal chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce in Canada on themes raised in her book, Why Mexicans Don’t Drink Molson.

• Andrea was the moderator on a panel discussion on China, featuring the Right Honorable Jean Chretien, Gary Wilson, the chairman of Northwest Airlines and Sheldon Liu, head of the Clarity China, a private equity fund. The panel was sponsored by Calgary independent equity investment firm, J.F. Mackie & Company.

• Andrea was the keynote speaker at a luncheon hosted by the Fraser Institute in Toronto, discussing the challenges to Canada of globalized markets and the rise of China.

• Andrea made a presentation to the Ontario government’s Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. She addressed the Business Climate-Deputies Committee (BCDC), which comprised of Deputy Ministers from approx. 19 ministries relating to the business sector.

• Andrea celebrated the launch of her book, Why Mexicans Don’t Drink Molson at Flight 55 restaurant and lounge.

April 2007
• Andrea was the keynote speaker at luncheons hosted by the Fraser Institute in Calgary and Vancouver discussing globalization and rise of China as well as the impediments to the Canadian agriculture and forestry sector posed by government regulation.

• Andrea moderated a panel discussion on the future of Canada’s global competitiveness at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. The event was coordinated with the launch of Why Mexicans Don’t Drink Molson and the panelists, who all appeared in her book, included Roger Martin, dean of the Rotman School of Management, Gary Comerford, Senior Vice-President International for Sun Life Financial, Brian Kelsall, Partner and Head of Global Project, Ogilvy Renault and Ian Mallory, President, Pickworth Investments.

• Andrea read excerpts from her book Why Mexicans Don’t Drink Molson at the Ottawa Writer’s Festival.

• Andrea was the keynote speaker at a luncheon hosted by the Frontier Centre for Public Policy in Winnipeg. She discussed the competitiveness of the Canadian agriculture industry and the obstacles to innovation and international expansion posed by the Canadian Wheat Board.
